Barbie Doll Descriptive Essay - 1167 Words

It is pitch black down in the basement of a fifty year old house. The basement is stacked high with boxes and totes of old things that someone did not want to throw away. There is a musty smell permeating the basement air. A large cardboard box, sitting the highest out of everything, starts to wobble back and forth. With a deafening crash, the box plummets to the ground, overturning its contents onto the hard basement floor. A couple of picture frames pour out of the box, the glass of their frames completely shattered, causing glass to carpet the floor. Out of box also comes a once beautiful, porcelain doll, her left eye completely shattered, and a fragile arm completely missing. It was the little jerk that pushed us off wasn t it? What am I saying, I m basically talking to a mute anyway. You never say a thing. Where s Bar ley?† Another rusting comes from the pile on the floor. â€Å"I m over here! Come help me up, I m having some trouble.† Barley yells from his position on the floor. â€Å"Yeah, yeah, I m coming! Just give me a second, alright?† shouts Barbie. â€Å"Porcelain, would you help me out real quick?† Without waiting for a reply, Barbie grabs Porcelain s one arm and pulls her over to Barley. They begin to pull him up off the floor, Barbie with a bit of unnecessary grunting and groaning. After a couple of seconds, Barley is standing. He s a few inches shorter than Porcelin but a good three inches taller than Barbie. â€Å"How you doing shorty?† He asks, bending down to ruffle Barbie’s Afro. â€Å"Hey, stop that off you old goon!† Barbie shouts, â€Å"we have business to attend to. That G.I. Jerk knocked our box off that tower of boxes. How are we supposed to get back up there and kick his butt?† â€Å"Now calm down there Barbie, we are going to figure this out.† Soothed Barley. They began to form a plan. With the boxes in suck uneven stacks they had almost the perfect ladder up to the top of the boxes. Barbie would ride on Porcelain’s back, because she was a bit too short to reach the boxes herself.
